It started with a simple question: What if we could design a way to deliver clinically-effective ingredients directly where they’ll have the greatest impact? For our founders, Madhavi Gavini and Rathi Srinivas, this wasn’t just a thought experiment—it was a mission. As MIT-trained scientists, their research focused on solving complex medical challenges, including epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare genetic condition that causes extremely fragile skin. For patients with EB, even the gentlest creams offered little relief and were often too painful to apply.
